Ever since Audi revealed a quattro concept back in 2010, we’ve expected it to turn in to at least a limited production run. But it hasn’t. And now, instead of the news that the quattro for the 21st century is heading in to production, we’re treated to a new quattro concept instead which may, or may not, make production.
Following on from its Geneva motoshow debut, Opel/ Vauxhall have announced that the Zafira Tourer is to head into production. Retaining much of the concept’s overall design, the new Zafira Tourer is heralded as a ‘quantum leap’ from its manufacturers. An extensively re-designed Flex-7 seating system, focus on improved cabin quality and improved materials sees the Zafira elevated in terms of cabin luxury.
The “friends of Carroll Shelby” are saluting the late automotive pioneer with a remarkable, one-off 850-hp GT500 Cobra that was revealed Friday at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Ford Motor Co., Shelby American, Ford Racing and others collaborated on the omnipotent machine, styled in the blue and white colors of the legendary Cobras of the 1960s. It gets a wide body kit, high-performance 13-inch-wide rear wheels and a 4.0-liter Ford Racing supercharger that lifts output from the GT500's usual level of 662 hp.
